Church of Scientology - downtown Ocala

John Travolta owns a home just outside of Ocala. He is often in the Ocala area. John Travolta is also a dedicated follower of the religion of Scientology. He recently purchased a building in the downtown area which was renovated as a Church of Scientology. I would guess there are very few Scientologists in Ocala. Perhaps this is an attempt to increase their numbers. It is, as the sign says, a "mission."

Not an accident...

It appeared to be an accident at first. But no. Evidently the yellow Mustang decided not to run. So, a bunch of friends were standing around looking at it.

Cuvee Wine & Bistro

Who said Ocala doesn't have culture? We have not yet wined and dined at the Cuvee Wine & Bistro but shall, just as soon as we get a bit more "culture." Cuvee, from what I understand, offers a very nice wine and dining experience. If you would like to see more of what it is all about, click here.

An "evil" Dodge Ram

Might want to avoid running into this guy! But maybe he's not so tough; he's parked in a handicapped spot!

Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce

This building formerly housed offices related to the City of Ocala. For some months now it has been inhabited by the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce. The old Chamber of Commerce building, located a few blocks away, has been razed. You can see that here.

Train meets truck...

...truck gets bent.

Train tracks run through downtown Ocala. The tracks are embedded into a street also used by cars and trucks. About noon one day last week, a truck pulled out of a bank onto the street as the train was passing through town. The driver of the truck thought he could miss the train. He was wrong.

The truck was injured. The driver was not. But it took a lot of fire and police personnel to clear things up.

Women's bikes at Dick's Sporting Goods...

...although in some cases, there are few, if any differences between men's and women's bikes these days.

ICE - Institute of Cardiovascular Excellence

This building, perched on a hill overlooking Highway 200 in southwest Ocala, has been under construction for some time. It certainly catches one's attention.
