West Virginia Redneck

Some of these people are still fighting the Civil War and flying the flag of treason. Note: Initially I thought this was a Florida truck. Thanks to Lois at Tallahassee Daily Photo for pointing out the error of my ways and I apologize to all non-racist Florida rednecks. The truck is from West Virginia.

Yikes! Great capture, Lowell!

Not my favorite flag. I haven't heard it called treasonous before but if you boil it down to its origins I suppose you're right.

After the recent murders in Charleston, I am surprised that tis flag is displayed so openly. How have I missed your return, Lowell—I'm one of your biggest fans :) Re. my blog today, it is in Sturgeon Bay, WI. Not at all like Stillwater altho the bridges look alike.

Does this kind of thing attract controversy or even confrontation, or is it just treated with apathy... probably all three I would imagine?!

Lowell you are not holding back your feelings on this one.

I'm surprised when people are so bold to display such negativity!

It should be relegated to museums and Civil War re-enactments. People should have the decency at this point in time to understand that, but there are still many who make excuses.

I did not see an American flag on this foreign (foreign?) car. I wonder if the FBI is aware of people that fly such flags? Is it questionable as to where their allegiance lies or are they simply not thinking about how it looks to others?

I was in the Navy during WW2 and the only flag displayed in those days was the Stars and Stripes. I served with many Southerners and never gave it a thought as to which was OUR American Flag.

It is surprising to see it!

Mmmmmmmm. Yeah well. Some people still salute like Hitler. I don't get it.

I hope you parked far away. I would have.

I agree with your comments on my blog today. I just hadn't thought to apply the word "treason" before.

I guess I'm just used to it, so I don't care one way or another. If they want to show their ignorance, let them. I did make the mistake of taking my grandkids to Stone Mountain the same weekend that the rednecks decided to bring all their Confederate flags to the park for a demonstration. The funny thing was, nobody even paid attention to them!

Me again. I just noticed that this truck seems to be from another state, so maybe it belongs to a West Virginia redneck!

You're welcome Lowell!

Ugh. Why does this flag continue to be such an issue? Just take them down already...

We even have some of those idiots here in Oregon. When will it ever end.
