Hawk Looking for Dinner

Usually, I can't get close enough to one of these guys to get a photograph. This one swooped low over our golf cart and then landed to perch on a branch of a tree at the Ocala National Golf Course. Fortunately, he must have needed some loving as he didn't fly away when I pointed the camera at him!

Impressive looking hawk. I didn't know hawks frequented your area. There must be bird sanctuaries down there.

He wanted his portrait taken and knew just who to ask for it! Good one!

That is a very handsome Red Tail (?) Hawk. Your photo and sighting of this hawk might have been the best thing that happened while on the course? Of course you might have hit a hole in one. You surely did with your photo.

Their sight is real sharp.

I have a few varmints here that I could see being attractive to him!

Based on the underside tail markings, I think that may be a Cooper's Hawk but it's difficult to tell.

What a fab shot Lowell, although I'm not sure how much loving you'd be able to give a hawk.. those talons look a wee bit scary 😊
