The theme for April is yellow. Thus, the grapefruit tree. We happen to have one of those grapefruit trees that loads up every year. While the grapefruit have a lot of seeds, they are also very sweet and very juicy. When I took this photo a few days ago, these were the few remaining specimens.

Oh grow your own grapefruit, that's so exotic! Are they really sweet? I thought the sweet ones were the pinkish ones!
ReplyDeleteNeat to have a grapefruit tree in your yard. I love them.
ReplyDeleteVery nice composition! I would have one of these now! :-)
ReplyDeleteSorry to see the end of our citrus season. Now we have to wait for late fall to start harvesting again. My neighbor has a tangerine tree that is loaded but I need to check to see if they are still good. If they are.. well... there will be tangerine juice in the fridge tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteFlorida grapefruit, simply the best!
ReplyDeleteI've never tasted a real greapfruit. I wish I could have some. :) Nice entry for the theme.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition, great yellow and very good choice.
ReplyDeletethats a fantastic photo, have never seen grapefruits actually still on the tree.
ReplyDeleteThat's perfect for the theme day!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky that you get to eat fresh grapefruit right off the tree! Those look ready! That's one of the things I really miss about Florida. We had bananas, sapodilla, coconuts, avocados, and papaya.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast right out of the back yard...can't beat that. A nice yellow picture.
ReplyDeleteThe first grapefruit today and how wonderful it is. We have loads of lemons and oranges in Menton but no grapefruit. I suspect it needs a different climate. Nice choice.
ReplyDeleteNice shot ..
ReplyDeleteA great choice; yellow and juicy. You have a healthy looking tree there.
ReplyDeleteThey look good! Nice Theme Day post!
ReplyDeleteyellow fruits are not the best but it is easier to pick
ReplyDeleteOh:) It would be lovely to have such tree:) Nice photo!
ReplyDeleteThey look juicy! I wish I could enjoy grapefruit, but I'm hyperacidic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come back tomorrow!

Would love so much to pick my grapefruit from a tress every morning!!
ReplyDeleteI just need to move to Florida I guess!!!
@ All - There is a problem in paradise. We have too many grapefruit; can't possibly eat them all. Nobody wants them 'cause they have their own trees.
ReplyDeleteSo, we eat as many as we can, and the rest hang until they drop.
This is just the most edible delicious post.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe I've never had a grapefruit? We have something similar, the suha, but according to those who've had both, they're still very different.
ReplyDeleteVery yellow fruit — perfect for theme day!
@ Hilda: No, I can't believe you've never had a grapefruit. I guess I just assumed grapefruit grew all over the world in similar climes.
ReplyDeleteBut then, I've never had a suha, either.
Nice big juicy grapefruit, just perfect for breakfast.
ReplyDeleteOh YummY!!! What a bright yellow--happy and sunny. Good shot. MB
ReplyDeleteGreat shot for the theme day, Jacob.
ReplyDeleteBetter too much Grapefruits than too little. We must import them, mostly from Israel at great cost.
Fresh grapefruit right off the tree... what a luxury! I have a small key lime tree in a pot. It was producing some fruit before we left, hopefully they'll be well on their way by the time I get home.
