Living high

This is an older house in the historic district. I'm guessing that someone has a room up there and has decorated the small porch at the top of the stairs.

  1. What a well kept home. Must be a nice view from up there but those stairs would kill me. :=]
and thanks for your sympathy re: my taxes.. and if that's the saddest thing you've heard all day, be grateful.. As Peter said, I'm doing my part to support my fellow citizens.. I just hope they appreciate it. LOL

  3. Lovely porch and lovely house. The stairs are a bit out of sync with the general tone, but probably there are safety requirements. Nice catch, I really like these houses.

  5. Reminds me of when I lived in Boston. Most of the Upstairs landings were "individualized" with plants, art, or something to personalize them.

  6. Maybe s/he's renting? He has his way in and out of the room.

Well spotted, Jacob. And the house looks so neat and pretty!

  10. @ PJ - I agree. Can you imagine hauling bags of groceries up those steps, not to say something large and heavy?

  11. @ Olivier - this is the north side of the house. The entrance is in front. I have a feeling they made a special room for a boarder and built the staircase to reach it so the boarder would not come through the main entrance.

  13. @ Karen - re: taxes. They are a pain, but at the same time we couldn't live in a community without them, right - they pay for schools, roads, courts, police, firemen, etc.

I don't mind taxes so long as they are fair - and I believe very much in the "graduated income" approach...

I just don't understand the so-called Tea Parties which have nothing to do with the Boston Tea Party (that was about taxation without representation)...unless you make over $250K a year, you'll get a tax cut.

And TARP, the bailouts, etc., were all initiated by the previous administration...

Could it be something else is afoot?

Hope you're having a great day!

  19. If someone lives up there, they get all the exercise they need going up and down those stairs!
I too wonder what else is afoot.
