Wow, I love how old cars are well kept. My dad's friend has a car just like that one (we call them "burritas" -little donkeys- here). They are very popular for weddings.
Although Henry Ford would be pleased that this Model A has remained in service for so long, the paint job on this car is the antithesis to the Henry Ford phllosophy that buyers may have whatever color car they want, as long as it is black.
Oh, I've always wanted to ride in one of these old cars. When I was a little girl, my grandpa had a couple of really old cars, not sure what they were but they never ran and just sat out in his yard but I'd have alot of fun pretending to drive in them! Great photo! Hey, the sun is finally out here!
Never ridden in one of those. On the other, occasionally get to ride in a souped up convertible Camaro :) http://photoblog.twincityphotos.com/2008/05/1-2-3-go/
The outboard motor in the background with the word Honda looks makes an unusual label for this picture. East meets West, Old vs.New, Who knows what happens when holding the camera?
Oh, I do like this picture. I like what you've done to it - the effect is really quite striking. My dad's uncle had a Model A when I was a kid. My sisters and I loved visiting him in Michigan and getting to ride down the local roads in it...bumping and bumping...and enjoying every minute of it! We especially liked to honk the horn: "Aah-OOOH-guh!" Thanks for the memories.

ReplyDeleteWow, that looks classic! I also liked the effect that you have done with the colors. Did you try a black & white for this photo?

ReplyDeleteAny pictures of you driving it? ;-) I really like this polarised effect! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat car, looks very classic! But I bet it is not "too" comfortable:)

ReplyDeleteWhat a great old car. They made them with a lot of soul in those times.

ReplyDeleteIs this a real working Model A? I have never tried to polarize an image, interesting effect. It looks a bit like a camouflaged version of the car.
ReplyDeleteFantastic effect. How did you do that? I like old cars better than new ones. I am a "passéiste" :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday.
Hey! You've been experimenting lately with Photoshop. I like this photo. It has a vintage feel to it. Nice one, Jacob.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Have a great weekend! Come back tomorrow for more of Fairhaven!

@ VP - So far as I know, yes. They drive it around frequently. From the looks of it, I'd guess it's been complete redone with new engine, etc.
ReplyDeleteVery cool picture! Well done!
ReplyDeletesheer bliss .. it should be to drive this beauty ....
ReplyDeleteYour treatment of the photo looks in keeping with the car's age. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! My Granny used to tell me stories about driving around in her Model T Roadster when she was a girl.
ReplyDeleteDid you get married in one?!!
ReplyDeleteNon, Marie-Noyale. When we met, I was driving a 1937 Chevrolet. When we married, I had moved "up" to a 1950 Plymouth coupe!
ReplyDeleteThose were the days!
