Waiting for a train

It was a warm afternoon at the Ocala train/bus station. This young man was waiting for the next train - to help with baggage, I believe. I asked him if I could take his picture and he said, "Sure! Will I be on the cover of a magazine?" I explained that wouldn't happen, but he might be on the Internet. He thought that was a great idea.

  1. A lot of atmosphere in this shot. I like the way you've captured the lines leading in to the photo.

BTW thanks for the tips on shooting the Moon on my blog.

  3. Nice shot, not much work in sight for him.
My only photo on the Internet is the mug shot in my profile, and probably this is a good thing for the world.
(Yesterday was full moon but cloudy!)

  4. Great shot, Jacob! A very different feel to it. I like the crispness of the shot. By the way, what were you doing at the station?

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come back tomorrow for more of the Keukenhof series!

  5. Came across you blog from Baruch's a walk thrugh Auckland. Thought I will let you know I will post sme alpine photos for you.

I like the man waiting for the train. Won't it be great to be the only passenger in the train? The man would be happy not having to do any work.

    Cheers,

    Ann :)

  6. This is a fantastic shot. It looks like a scene out of a western. OK, he isn't sporting a Stetson but still...

  12. Love the moon shots!!!! I'll have to go out tonight and see what I can get.
Our train station looks very similar except it's closed thanks to Hurricane Ivan.

  13. @ PJ - That damn Ivan. He was a "terrible" Tsar and then a hurricane!

I'm trying to be funny, but I know there was nothing funny about Hurricane Ivan...

  16. Hello to the young man! Some platforms are on ground level and evocative to me of trusty pioneers or for goodness sake of remote Siberia, I notice this because ours, like many other places, are above ground level. I have some commitment to visiting your site but I don't always manage to do so, sorry.

  17. I really like this. It's a grand study in perspective. You should try it in black and white. It would give it a completely different feel.
    Good work.
