Lovely brickwork, great house and nice front garden (I guess they have more garden beyond that gate). What are for those wires on the right? Power, telephone? No way to put them underground in a house like this?

Vogon Poet - The wires are certainly for telephone (maybe cable TV as well as power)...In some subdivisions, all the wires are underground. Our subdivision has wires underground which makes it much nicer visually. But to go into an older area and put them underground is very expensive...I don't think the city is going to do that with all their other expenses.
Boy, would my husband love this house. No rotting clapboards, or need for paint every four years, not to mention the roof that looks like it would last a lifetime. It's large, but I think the perspective makes it looks larger perhaps than it really is.

Leia - You make a good point! Sometimes we want more and bigger stuff, but we end up with more and bigger problems! And higher taxes!

ReplyDeleteMarie - It is interesting that most of Ocala is built of wood or concrete block and stucco... but years ago, many homes were constructed of brick.
