Many of you will recall our series on the Seven Sisters Inn located near downtown Ocala. You will also recall that it was a bed-and-breakfast consisting of several houses, and that it was HAUNTED, most people believe, by the spirits of the seven sisters who lived there originally!
Well, there were financial problems and the inn has been closed down and the property is being liquidated. Very sad.
But, I think it is still haunted. In fact, I took this photo because of the ghostly figure watching me from inside. Can you see it in the right hand panel...it's moving -- bobbing and weaving! If I wasn't so brave I would have been afraid!

ReplyDelete@ Melanie - With regard to your question: Not directly. The people that owned the inn wanted to sell it. A couple from California agreed to buy it. However, the California people lost their home in California in a forest fire, and suddenly did not have the funds to go through with the purchase as they need the money to rebuild their home that burned.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, the economy crashed. The people who owned the inn could not continue to make the payments and finally the bank foreclosed and put everything up for sale.
It's sad for this was a popular spot for people to come from around the world.

ReplyDeleteI love the photograph itself. Perfect color and compostion. It makes the door come right off the screen. But the story of the haunting and the face in the glass is unbelievable. That's a fantastic tale. You DID go up closer and peek in the door, didn't you?
