Located on the southeastern edge of Ocala, Little Dove Baptist Church sits on a corner near an increasingly busy highway from where it strives to send a message to those driving by.
OK, let's start with "palmiers". It's basically puff pastry and sugar, also called "elephant's ears". You might want to try http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Sweet-Palmiers-106763 which should give you an idea.
It's a really cute little church with a lovely and evocative name. Isn't being one at the risk of losing oneself?
Ok CQ! How come you're so darn smart? I checked out "palmiers" and know now what they are...they sell them at our local Publix in the bakery and they are Lois Anne's favorite pastries. I just didn't know what they were called! Sheesh!
Re: this cute little church. It's just a silly saying, and really doesn't mean much of anything...just encouraging the members (and public) to actually live like a Christian is supposed to live and that will give you more vitality or whatever it is that vitamins do for you.
This church is really out in the woods...but the highway has been widened and is now quite busy...it serves the black community in that area.
There's something about these signs - I cannot resist reading them...even though they are often traffic hazards as you muddle your way passed them trying to figure out what they mean. It's safe to post them on your blog though. I promise to NOT fall off my chair. ;-)
It's tough when you have to explain 'em. I couldn't help but see the condition of the sign . . . it could use a vitamin shot or something . . . great catch and appropriate for Sunday ;-)

Why is the grass so dry? I thought Florida had tons of rain? Maybe the grass needs somes B-1. The Unitarian Universalist has some high-brow quotes which we get to read at one of the few stop lights in town.
The little church looks a lot like one here. In the picture it looks like it's in the country, not by a busy highway. Clever message on the sign.

ReplyDeleteHi Kcalpesh...B-1 is the name of a vitamin. You have to say it out loud to get the effect: The best vitamin for a Christian is B-1 (to be one).
