The annual Fort King festival was held in Ocala last weekend. We'll provide much more information about this festival along with a number of photographs in the coming days. This gentleman and his dog were enjoying the sights and graciously consented to having their picture taken. I neglected to get his name, so if he sees this, I want to say "Thank you!"

Wow, not seen something like this before! Have only seen people carrying kids, kangaroo style :-)
ReplyDeleteGood one!

Great shot Jacob. I love these types of photos. Your shot here reminds me of Steffe's photo/interviews.
ReplyDeleteThanks as usual for your kind words to me and especially to Astoria Daily photo. RE: moving to the NW. Of course you'd like it but you can be lonely or happy almost anywhere, Besides if I recall your children and grandchildren live in Fla. It is nice to be near family most of the time. Re: The photo. The guy has such a funny look on his face. It resembles, no surprise, the dog's expression.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he's having fun, and the dog looks so relaxed. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more about the festival.
ReplyDeleteL'homme a le visage pointu ... comme son petit chien !
ReplyDeletepeople are crazy about their dogs
ReplyDeleteThis guy is perfect, in his own way, dog in pouch included. Very nice portrait.
ReplyDeleteoriginal ce sac à chien ;o))
ReplyDeleteoriginal this bag to dog; o))
Kangaroo is the name, I think!
ReplyDeleteThat is just too cute. I bet he's a "chick magnet"
ReplyDeletethis is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThe Dog is so beautiful !! What a great way !!Unseen Rajasthan
ReplyDeleteCute. I once looked into a sling for Bibi, but she was too heavy in it. So she walks!
ReplyDeleteJust call him the Florida guy. I like the dog, I need to get me a little one like that to carry around.
ReplyDeleteThe dog certainly seems to be enjoying the ride.My dogs would not take to this at all.
ReplyDeleteIf you were as clever as our friend Steffe, you would have found out the dog's name, dog's breed, dog's age, dog's favorite food! And then there's the guy's name, guy's occupation, how long has he lived in Ocala, does he have other dogs, etc etc.
ReplyDeleteYou just have to ask MORE questions and stop being so gosh darn shy!
@ Safe Leif - I'se so sorry, but I'se scared of peoples and doggies.
ReplyDelete@ B Squared - I went home and tried it with our 70-lb Golden Retriever. Fell flat on my face and couldn't get up for hours!
ReplyDeleteEven the dog seems to enjoy this type of outing. I wonder though. MB
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a case of indecent exposure.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the two of them have done this many times before. The dog looks so comfortable!
ReplyDeleteOH! How utterly CUTE! Fun and funny, nice capture. :-D
ReplyDeleteI just think there is something wrong about people literally "walking" their dogs.
ReplyDeletePrecious pooch! The owner looks very happy to be there, too. Great portrait!
ReplyDeleteJacob, I had to swing the laptop screen away from the snippy Dr. Porter, the royal Peke presence at my feet (and that's only because he can't jump up onto his silk pillow.) If he saw this contraption I'd be sunk. The ankle biting would certainly begin until he was cozy and being hauled about. No way my friend.
ReplyDelete@ Halcyon - I think sometimes for little dogs it's safer...they could easily get trampled on the ground in a crowd...
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor friend, Peg, has three smaller dogs, one of which, Molly, sits in pouch just like this when she walks all three. You see, Molly isn't a lover of other dogs and she gets a bit snippy with others if she's on leash! Quite comical to see, actually!
ReplyDeleteJacob, the little dog looks like a Papillon. Do you see the resemblance?
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute one. I guess fine minds think alike....I have a dog post today too. :)
ReplyDeleteNow that dog surely knows how to find himself an elevated position in life!
ReplyDeleteThe dog looks right at home!
ReplyDeleteA great portrait of an interesting duo. My dogs are spoiled, no doubt..... but they do have to walk for themselves.......
ReplyDeleteA great capture Jacob. Makes me laugh.
@ Dan J. - Thanks. Do you know that the comment form on your blog is "closed"?
ReplyDelete@ Prospero - Yes, I do. Now I wished I'd asked so to be sure!
ReplyDeleteLook at that paw - she is one spoilt liddle lady!
ReplyDeleteI liked a lot this idea! Let me try it with little Luna! :)
ReplyDeleteLéia
@ Leia - Ha, ha. I'd like to see you try that with Luna! :-))
ReplyDeleteHehe, funny picture! There is this quote dogs have owners, cats have staff. I think it should be rewritten into something like big dogs have owners, small dogs and cats have stuff. Too funny that the guy is carrying his dog around.
ReplyDeleteSomeone is very comfortable!!
ReplyDeleteThe dog seems very happy!
ReplyDeleteMy Bangkok Through My Eyes!
You got a Posty: I want to give 15 postcards :)
