If you leave a place go in Florida, it soon becomes devoured by flora. This old house is located in Ocala's downtown area, just behind the main post office. It is for sale, if anyone is interested. I don't know the price.
This place is a beauty and sure has a great potential! Soon will be a time when you won't see such a lush green-covered place! Atleast here in my town in Mumbai....
Yep, I see the potential, especially if all of the structure in the photo is part of the building (or is that the neighbours behind?). Needs a bit of TLC though!
Same story everywhere, I guess. The flora takes over. For whatever reason I recall images from Chernobyl (of all places) where houses are being engulfed in what was once their little garden.
Well, actually, it does have potential. As they say, it has nice bones. Unfortunately those bones may be suffering a bit from the voracious greenery. But I love the shots, both of them.
My grandfather would have said "It has possibilities." In this case, for what I can't imagine, but in that location I would think it would have Location, Location, Location in its favor. I like the color best.
I can only imagine the wildlife inside! Snakes slithering, roaches doing what roaches do, carpenter ants eating away at the wood, the smell of decaying food in the refrigerator that was never cleaned out. I'm sure there's an alligator or two in there as well. When's the bulldozer coming?
@ Antjas - I think you have described the reality of this place perfectly! Probably no alligators, though...we usually find them in water; you know, like swimming pools.
Reminds me of some places I've seen in Cayenne, French Guyana. Remember Papillon, the movie? Could be some old penitentiary, or a plantation, in the jungle. The BW was a very good idea!
It's really interesting to see the two versions of the same photo. The B&W really makes this poor place look decrepit! There's a lot of work there for someone who sees a diamond in the rough...
Boy! You aren't kidding are you? The greenery monster is eating it up. I like seeing both versions too. Good idea.
