An Indian grocery store in the heart of Ocala

This Indian grocery store is a testimony, I think, of the changing demographic here in Ocala.

  1. I looks nice, I don't know a lot about Indian food but I adore curry and some of their vegetarian dishes. Nice shot.

  3. Are you being taken back by the Indians?

  6. Well, I would like to go there. I never went to one.

  7. That's interesting! It doesn't look typical Indian to me at all. Anyway, I think I would give it a try and see what an Indian grocery store has to offer.

  8. Have you gone in? Or were you in that shopping plaza to have your nails done and get a tan?

  9. Even I like to get away from lefse and lutefisk sometimes for spicy, yummy Indian food!

  10. Nice shot. Is it an organic type place?

  11. I think I remember seeing one of those around here too, but I can't recall where.

  13. @ Memphis - I dunno. I didn't see an organ anywhere! ;-))

  14. Seems there is a tanning & nail store in every plaza anymore! I'm not sure why a tanning shop is necessary in Florida. Isn't there enough sun already?
Safe Leif would be able to tell you if the Indian Grocery is legit. He's the Indian spice expert, you know...

  15. We have an Indian grocery too. It's called Patel's and they have the best fresh mint! Much better than what you get at the Kroger.

  16. Shouldn't it be... Native American Grocery?!

  17. @ Tricia - You're silly. This is "Indian" as from India...but you knew that!

  18. @ Allison - Evidently, a lot of people aren't satisfied getting skin cancer from the sun so they patronize tanning parlors.

Re: Safe Leif...the question is whether or not he's "legit." ;-)

  19. @ Safe Leif - For some reason I figured you'd like lutefisk. I've always thought people who eat rotten cod are odd!

  20. I've never tried Indian..I hear it's very spicy. Probably not my thing. We don't have an Indian grocery here, but that's not surprising, there's not even a Kroger in my little town!

  21. @ Brattcat - No, we didn't go in as we were on our way to someplace else. And no, I only have my nails done for a big occasion, like, say, going on a photo shoot.

  22. @ VP - Yes, but these Indians come from New Delhi! :-))

  23. Indian food .. my favorite after pizza

  24. I couldn't have imagined this to be "Native" Americans. Do you go there sometimes to get everything you need for a vegetarian curry? Or a dahl? I looooove dahl!

  25. Embarrassingly enough, Jacob, I didn't know that, but I'm laughin my butt off now!!!!!!!!!

  26. Lots of changes in the Greater Toronto Area, too. A few people are not happy about the changes but most like...or should I say heart?...the diversity.

  27. no longer there, its either closed or relocated somewhere else.

  28. I was being there in India for 1 month last year and tasted different food recipes and vegetables that I was being served there. It was really nice to be there and more pleasant to see the Indian grocery store here in Ocala.
