Griffin's Santa is gone!

You may remember the post about Griffin's, a long-time Ocala store which sold all kinds of crafty things but was forced out of business due to the lack of business.

In front of the store was a sign with Santa hanging from it. Santa hung there all year long. But Santa is gone now. No one knows where. Maybe the North Pole?

Click on the photo if you wish to embiggen.

  8. Great shot! What a loss now that it's gone. Did I ever tell you that I LOVE your banner?

  9. Alas, his disappearance was perhaps foretold by the vanishing of his little finger. Find that and perhaps you'll find the rest of him. ( :

  10. That Santa is awesome. It makes one wonder with mysteries like that. Where did he go all of the sudden. Changes like that often mean new things are coming.... but who knows anymore. It is scary to see the number of vacant businesses in every part of the country.

  14. Sheesh! Now how will I find him to sit on his knee?

  15. Oh, too bad...he looks so cute there. Maybe he just went for a new paint job and will return. (like when our big cowboy disapeared only to return with newly painted clothes)

  16. Whew, it's a lot of work to climb up and down a million chimneys in one night. Santa must be buff under all that red fur. :-)

  17. @ EG - Do you really kneed to sit on this Santa's knee...could it not be more advantageous to sit on another Santa's knee? ;-)

  20. It's sad when the old 'icons' from the past disappear. Things which we have grown up with and been used to seeing. Perhaps the new shop owners have just taken him down for refurbishment and he will return?

  29. I sure hope Santa found a new home somewhere, seriously. It would be sad to find he went to the landfill/recycling.
