A great Great Dane!

No, this is not another Ocala horse...just a very shy, beautiful Great Dane!

  1. What an awesome pup! However, I don't envy the health problems that almost inevitably come with giant breeds. I LOVE that they didn't crop his ears. That is something I really don't condone. Hug your Haley for me:)

  3. That's one big guy! You sure he's not a horse?

  4. Not sure I'd have chosen a jack-o-lantern scarf with a dappled gray suit, but he does manage to pull it off. Very handsome!

  5. I bet you could fit a saddle on him . . .

  10. The big guy's shy? Hmm I rarely get to see a giant pet of a similar breed over here. He's for sure posing very nicely for the photo :-)

  11. Heidenei! (a Swabian word for incredible; it was the first word which I've thought). What a gigantic dog! And it looks like very friendly!

  13. He is a great-looking dog. My friend had a very gentle Great Dane. I tend to think they all are.

  14. I think I never saw one so big.

  15. He won't fit in my apartment!

  16. It is so amazing to me when I see these huge animals next to people. You really get a feel for the size of this beast.

It also amazes me how kind and gentle they are. More often then not, the Great Danes I have met have such a soft, almost timid stature to them. There is nothing more curious and amusing than to see a near 200 pound dog try and sit in its masters lap so it can feel safe.

Great capture!... and you were right, this was a fine addition to the Dane I posted the other day. They are amazing dogs.

  17. He's not a big dog, he's a super big dog! I bet he can woof down a lot of dog food, non?!

  18. Holy cow! Kids COULD ACTUALLY ride him, though, just like a horse! Saddle up!

  20. Amazingly gentle creatures .. I cant imagine how much it must cost to feed him ..

  21. Dogs of this breed are gentle giants! After 12 years working for a veterinarian, I never saw one that wasn't friendly and loved everyone.

  22. Huge! And he looks cute with his smiley scarf. :)

  23. My favourite dog! This one is a beauty!

  24. Fortunately, a timid nature seems to be correlated with this kind of size. I remember a big black dog when I was a kid, he was the kindest around the block and the only dog in the neighborhood which couldn't bark at all!

  25. Very nice dogs. My niece has two of them. Leif mentioned the amount of dog food. I personally would be more worried about what comes out the other end.

  26. Can a jockey ride him?

  27. Gorgeous dog, but, I don't know, they're too big for me and tend to slobber. What's wrong with a nice chihuahua?

  28. Nice dog. I had to laugh at the smiley-face kerchief. Are you sure it's not even PART horse?
