I presume that the people who play all wear white outfits and white hats. If they enjoy lawn bowling, surely they must have a sense of style and decorum.
Hey! A little bit of Italy in Florida! Actually Molfetta's older gentlemen would probably drool to see such lovely courts! We have nothing like that here.
Forgive me, but although these are state-of-the-art courts, most bocce players (or petanque players) I see would chuckle at their perfection, preferring a more natural terrain!
I can almost smell the 'spring' in this photo. Today it is going to be 76 here. The weather has been so spring like..... after 2-3 years of being robbed of summer, maybe we'll have one that makes up for it this year.
My great uncle Len used to play at Woodland Park in Seattle. I bet the greens aren't there any more. All those old men are gone to the great court in the sky. (Or something like that). MB
@ Ciel - You're not the first one who told me I didn't know what I was talking about. Oh, wait...you said you didn't know what I was talking about. Well, other people have told me that, too! ;-))
lovely composition!
ReplyDeleteSOMEWHERE, DON VITO IS SMILING.
ReplyDeleteBut the courts are empty!
ReplyDeleteFunny! I've never seen actual courts for bocce ball.
ReplyDeletebelle composition, mais il doit faire trop chaud pour que les joueurs sortent

ReplyDeleteI've heard about bocce but never saw anyone playing it. It seems to be very popular in Florida, given that I can count 3 courts in the photo.
ReplyDeleteI love bocce but we play it on the rolling lawn.

ReplyDeleteI don't even know what you're talking about but I do like the graphic effect of the composition!
ReplyDeleteSo wheresa all the excitement, wheresa all the goombahs?
ReplyDeleteI have never seen (except in a movie) or played this game. It seems like shuffle board with a ball.
