re teachers: My kids had the most wonderful teachers in elementary school...I could never say enough good about them. They were not friends before my kids went there, but I sure considered them such afterwards....and I loved their principal. He took an interest in kids and tried to encourage good behavior.
I volunteered to help run the library one day a week, so I feel like I really knew the teachers. I liked the ones my kids didn't have, too.
All my teachers were old...just waiting on retirement. Yet, my brother and I were talking, they must have done something right because we did just as well in high school as the kids from the newer public schools.
Nine years ago, I was working on a temporary assignment in Chicago and the city did this same type of art event with cows. I really enjoyed seeing how the different artists decorated thier cows and it was so much fun to find them throughout the city.
Rochester, New York has horses similar to this all around the city...or they used to. In spite of it's missing paint, the horse appears to be keeping it's eye on you!

It is very colorful over the rest of it. Maybe the artist ran out of paint. Lovely though.
