Being that Ocala (and thus Marion County in which Ocala is located) is the horse capital of the world, it is understandable that the Marion Cultural Alliance (located in downtown Ocala) is involved with horses. Here are a couple of them.
Didn't realize there was so much horse country in Florida. I used to drive out to the horse ranches every week in Redlands, CA when my daughters took riding lessons. Personally I like the looks of these painted ones, and you don't have to watch where you step.
The first one is pure music, I liked a lot this idea and I would like to visit this exposition center someday. The blue horse is also magnificent, with some "light of royalty"! Léia
love that first shot, the perspective is perfection. Last summer into fall there were a lot of these painted horses in the park/garden that is alongside/part of the Museum of Natural History. I think I have snapped one or three of them myself.
I remember one or two of these you previously posted. They are very cool an remind me of the 'Cow Parade' we had in Lisbon, painted cows were all over the city.
I encountered a painted horse in Portland the other day, and will sometime post the photo, although I couldn't get a good angle. I also found a painted cow in the Safeway store in Astoria, and maybe I'll post it tomorrow. The cow also had a musical theme. I wonder why the musical theme comes up? But I do like them. This one is especially nice. I love the yellow legs and blue head.
Very interesting horse art. I will have to look up some of the ones that were done where I live and share them with you.

ReplyDeleteWe have statues like this all over the Twin Cities, but ours are of 'Peanuts' charecters as St.Paul was the boyhood home of Charles Shultz.

ReplyDeleteThese are great. I saw many of the painted ponies when in New Mexico some years ago. I like the shot through the gate, so much color and shape.
