Smoker's bench in front of medical facility

  1. I am surprised that this is so close to the building. And not far from the door.

  2. Nice shot -- crystal clear.

I don't smoke, but I give smokers a break -- we all have bad habits of some kind.

  3. To their credit, it does look pretty uninviting.
I've never seen an ash receptacle like that. Where I come from smokers just throw their butts in the street like nature intended.

  6. That obelisk belongs to a cemetery! Did the put it there to scare away smokers?

  7. I was wondering what the baby obelisk was…

  8. Oh, yes... bfarr's point is good. Isn't there a 30-foot rule or something like that?

[Thank you for introducing me to Haley. "Arf" right back to her, please. :-)

And Jacob, (I am smiling) where was the bread you toasted for breakfast made? Where did the coffee/tea come from? The orange juice? Where was your morning newspaper printed? Where was your car made? How about the last pair of earrings you bought for Lois Anne? Or even the house/condo you live in, who built it?... shall I offer a little wager...? not in China? :-D Off my soapbox, now.]

  10. Well, the help is near if you get the smoke in your eyes or down the wrong way :-D

  11. Absurd but I have seen doctors and nurses outside hospitals smoking ...

  12. Sometimes I have to hold my breath when I enter and exit a building.

  13. And the bench is empty! Our medical buildings have the smoking area much further away from the door.

  14. This photo and the previous one are wonderful. I love animals and reflections :-)))

I was not pulling your leg at all. :-)There was no fountain and no statue left. But the day after both reappeared. I guess workers removed the statue to clean it and they turned off the fountain for one day.

  15. Every time I pass a hospital, there's tons of nurses smoking outside. I guess it's a stressful job.

  17. I sure am glad I gave up smoking all those years ago.

  18. Uh huh, a bench! Nicely photographed. I've begun to see those ashtrays around here, too. They are hardly inconspicuous. I think I still prefer the ones with sand in them. Better yet, I wish there were no need for them.
