Joahn's

I'm not sure why I took this photo...there are a number of these little shops in strip malls in Ocala. But I think the reason had to do with the name, "Joahn." I've never known anyone named "Joahn." Joan, JoAnn, Joanne, JoAnne are all names that I've seen. "Joahn" did catch my attention, though.

  1. Interesting spelling. I wonder if you feel like the woman on the door when you leave there? ha ha. Enjoy your Sunday.

  2. Maybe that's the way New Yorkers spell it. Sounds like they do a lot in this shop!!!

  3. Actually, at first I read "Johan". I'm not so fond of names that are odd spellings...but then, some people are, so...!

  4. If I didn't know any better, I might say the owner is Filipino. Filipinos love to insert 'h' in names that don't usually have an h :-)

    Have a great Monday!

Many thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your comment. Come visit again tomorrow!

  9. I echo Joy's comment. The owner does sound Filipino. :D

Which reminds me of a little spelling problem someone had with my name. Here, Gilda is also pronounced Hilda, rather than with a hard G. I was dictating over the phone, so I said "Hilda with an H." The document came to me with my name spelled HILDAH. Hahahahaha!

  17. I believe it's the dutch name for John; if so you pronounce it like 'Eeohan' (or something of the kind)... :-)

  18. Are you back to Ocala, Jacob? If so this means your daughter is OK, right? I really hope so.

  19. I was going to tell you the same thing Joy and Hildah did... :-D ... And speaking of giving name spellings over the phone, you'd be amazed how many people can't spell San Francisco... I typically get a LOOOONNG pause when I say spelled like SF with an A at the end... Get strong again, Jacob. My regards to your family.
