Mom in Minnesota - early 1930s

I know this doesn't have much to do with Ocala, but I just came across it and my Mom had lived in south Florida and I figured that's close enough.

    I love those old cars. Your mom looks quite confident and enjoying herself.

    Regarding what I liked best about the Marriott World Center: I guess the landscaping and beauty that I saw no matter which window I looked out of.

    The way I see it, this has a lot to do with Ocala! If it weren't for your mother, you wouldn't be in Ocala (or anywhere else for that matter). :)

    Very nice photograph. Mom was an intelligent-looking woman and she had a very nice car. Where did you go wrong?

    I don't think most of us care much if you are slavishly faithful to Ocala or if you base the blog there and then riff from time with other shots that interest you. I think Luxembourg, for example, only shows Luxembourg one photo out of five or so.

    I LOVE this photo. I love the hat, the pose, the intelligence of expression, the playfulness of posture. What a great photo. Any idea who took it? It was definitely someone your mom felt comfortable with.

    Close enough for me..I love to see old pictures. This one has held up well over the years. I wonder if the pictures we take today will be around in seventy years. Maybe floating around out there in cyberspace somewhere.

    Glad to know your mom, Jacob and I agree with Anjoeplayhouse about the likeness with Mia Farrow: a very charming and brainy woman! Then, the old car... like in old movies... the hat (in french "béret") in fashion again. Beautiful photo and a dear record for you.

I do not want to live life on lies, and so has my politics always been...

    Of course we have giraffes near where my husband and I live. Just 6 km south you will find Knuthenborg Safari Park, a gigantic natural area. Giraffes, rhinos, tigers, donkeys, horses, ostriches, buffaloes, wolves, baboons, monkeys, camels, dromedaries, special birds, etc., etc. Find my list to the right, and click at Knuthenborg Park and Safari!
