The Black Horse - downtown Ocala

The above photo by Lois Anne.

I'm quite surprised that the "decorations" on this horse have not been "appropriated" by local vandals. Hopefully, the bad guys will leave this beautiful horse alone.

  2. Oh, that's funny, I never even noticed these on the previous picture. They do look to be pretty well secured to the horse.

maybe there is some myth around the horse keeping the vandals off!!

  4. I had the same thought when I saw the decorations. Maybe we will be wrong and no one will pry them off!

  5. I think I would have like it plain with no bling on it.

  6. I really to like the high gloss on this one and the decorations are indeed interesting. Let's hope the vandals leave it alone.

  11. Such a creative idea to add watch faces and medals. Seems appropriate this time of year.

  13. I'm surprised, too, seeing as how they ran off with the quarters on the other horse. This black one is really a Black Beauty.

  18. The vandals were my first thought too. If it was here I believe some of the decorations were already gone. This peaceful country changed so much in the last decades and it's revolting when you think most of the worse crimes are commited by foreigners. We have to thank the 'brilliant minds' of the European leaders who signed the Schengen Treaty = no borders inside the EU...

  19. I don't know what the artist means to say with his/her choice of decorations, but I like it!

Wishing you and your family a blessed and beautiful 2012.

  20. I see in the wiki that Ocala and Marion county are home to a horse show that lasts a couple of months and serious thoroughbred breeding. Home of Affirmed.

We stay in Venice although it has been a couple of years since we were there. Love Florida in general. Sorry about the recent cold spell.

  21. This was one of my favorites!

I heard later that this one, also, along with "The Quarter Horse," was vandalized! :(
