Electric traffic lights - SR 40, downtown Ocala

Electric traffic lights
Strung across the road
Green says you can go
Yellow cautions slow.

Red is most important for it
Means that you must stop
If you go on sailing through
You may just meet a cop!

Today's theme is "electricity." Click here to view thumbnails for all participants

  3. Ha! I wish they had more cops here to control the red lights. I like this one you've shown here. It's the old-fashioned style hanging from a wire. Nice choice for the theme day.

  4. That street looks almost quaint! I like a town like that.
    I like the poem too.

  5. I have been getting such a kick out of this meme, all the poems have been so clever and the photos such a cross section of our electrified world. Regarding Stowe Lake. If you decide to steal it, let me know. Someday I think the ideal job would be to rent out the boats and make the popcorn. In retirement of course, because I know it doesn't pay :-).

  6. Or a camera, as it is here nowadays. Smile when you run that yellow-reddish light.

  7. Nice humorous rhyme! On a side note, how "Florida" is it that you see pal trees on the left which imply worth, but Christmas decor on the right which imply cold!

  8. By changing out the cars, this could very easily have been a scene from the fifties or even the thirties.

  9. It seems that here is not much traffic, so the trafic light could remain green all the time...

  15. I wonder how long before they make cars that automatically are controlled at intersections instead of us putting on the brakes or not?
