Horse & Hounds is a British-style restaurant and pub. There are two incarnations of Horse & Hounds in Ocala. The first is in an older building on Highway 27, some 15 miles west of downtown Ocala. The Horse & Hounds pictured above was built about four years and is located about six miles east of downtown Ocala. The food is decent and the prices are not outrageous.
You seem to have an endless variety of restaurants in Ocala. DOes anyone cook there? ;)
ReplyDeleteThey did a great job on the newer one. I like that turret!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived In Florida I dont recall ever hearing of this place! Richard from Amish Stories
ReplyDeleteI would try it. Looks inviting,
ReplyDeleteA Ye Olde sports bar with HD flat screen TVs.
ReplyDeleteBeing an avowed anglophile, I'd probably enjoy this place. The name made me think of an old movie called "Notting Hill" with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. Grant posed as a reporter from "Horse & Hound" magazine in order to get in to see Julia.
ReplyDeleteI love the name and the atmosphere of this place. Great photos, Lowell!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a big place inside. You'll have to show us the old one some day.
ReplyDeleteI always wondered about this restaurant...I go by it every Tuesday when I teach at the Appleton.
ReplyDeleteHay and kibble, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteBut if you say the food is decent, I'll assume they have stuff suitable for humans, too. Be sure to ask for extra garlic with it.
Does the menu have garlic fries?
ReplyDeleteTGIF - Looking forward to 5:00 today, it has been a tough week, perfect post!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a place worth trying.
ReplyDeleteAnd lots of sport to watch behind the bar too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely place, great shots.
ReplyDeleteNice shots, Lowell.. Hmmm.. did the other one look the same? My husband and I would love to spend a lazy night here :)
ReplyDeleteThe food is "decent?'---not exactly a ringing endorsement, Lowell!
ReplyDeleteLove them both! :)
ReplyDeleteI've always (really???) wanted to eat in a castle.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great spot to eat or drink or both.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about Vodka in Apricot Nectar. MB
I am always up for a good pub visit.
ReplyDelete"Decent" food at "not outrageous" prices, hmmmmm, you don't seem too enthusiastic about it, I guess it's not in the top lines of your list... :)
ReplyDeleteThe place looks nice, though!
God bless you!
Cezar
