Eighth Street Elementary School is located in the downtown historic area. Constructed in 1914, the building has undergone renovation and now houses a dynamic learning center in the middle of the city!

Handsome building and it's nice to know that it's still in use!
ReplyDeleteSince it is so large, it must have multiple programs. Love the architecture; so much more attractive than some of the modern "shoeboxes."
ReplyDeleteNice school. Wish I'd been able to visit a school like this
ReplyDeleteIt looks like my old high school.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great, traditional building. I like it so much better than all those modern, one-level school buildings. This would fit perfectly in the mid-west.
ReplyDeleteLove how you composed the shot, Lowell, with the tree and the beautiful green ferns in the foreground.
ReplyDeleteFor me, that is what a school building should look like. I like the name too. I guess it's on Eighth Street.
ReplyDeleteThis is in beautiful shape for a 98-year-old school! They've torn down at least one of the old elementary schools I attended, but I suppose that happens with stone age schools.
ReplyDeleteI'm going back to school on Monday.
ReplyDeleteNice building!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful old building.
ReplyDeleteThat's a grand looking building, I like the 'red carpet' treatment at the entrance too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine old traditional building for a school!
ReplyDeleteit looks like a grand old school.
ReplyDeletepretty big for an elementary school, was it not?
This is a great shot. Architectural shots are my most favorite...the red really ads to this.
ReplyDeleteGreat building. The school looks like when it is built recently. Classrooms have undergone many pupils that. Have a nice weekend! Peter
ReplyDeleteLooks like some of the older public schools in Seattle---still in use one way or another. I went to St. Benedict's going strong since 1908. Not me of course. LOL MB
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of light and shadow in this one.
ReplyDeleteImpressive! Looks like a warm day!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fantastic entrance! Students get to walk the red carpet every day. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely building!
ReplyDeleteI love the red path going to the entrance... like walking on a red carpet every time you enter school. Isn't that a great motivation :)
