Who would think you'd find a model alpaca in Ocala, the "Horse Capitol of the World"?

  3. Very progressive cut for an Alpaca, ha ha. So what golf courses did that magazine mention. Black Mesa? Marty Sanchez?

  7. Oh, that is perfect! He is goofy and gorgeous at the same time. I really love this one. It looks like you caught him in a moment of quiet contemplation, dreaming of some sort of gourmet hay, no doubt.

  10. Oh, he's a wreck...in an adorable way. That messy fur...hay strewn about his head...discolored buck teeth -- he's perfect! Nice find, Lowell.

  13. They make the funniest faces. There are a lot of Alpaca farms out this way. And Llamas too. Alpaca's are grown mostly for fiber and it is supposedly the best. MB

  14. Even though we live in a conifer forest we don't have the large bushy tail, what I call city squirrels, here. We see an occasional Douglas Squirrel which is a real cute small black and tan cutie. Also called a Chickaree or Pine Squirrel and not the big Eastern
gray. And never around the feeders. So I guess we are lucky.

  17. Re. your comment yesterday: horse is still eaten here though it has become much rarer. It used to be very popular until about 50-60 years ago. My grandparents ate it so I'm sure I must have too, though I don't remember it...
