Wild turkey or ....

I watched this thing from a distance and swear its head turned back and forth. And no, I hadn't been drinking any Wild Turkey!

  1. Okay Lowell. What the heck is it? If it's a turkey it looks different from the ones in Canada.

  3. funny how our eyes can and do deceive us. sometimes, in the distance, rural mailboxes look like people---really. So if you have lots of time on your hands keep watching the branch. MB

  5. It's a branch? I thought I could see tail feathers. I guess that makes me the turkey.

  6. There is a tree in our neighbor's yard that looked just like a rooster. Then it got pruned. Now it doesn't even look very tree-ish. I vote for a scientific experiment: have some Wild Turkey, then go back and take another look. Photograph if you can. Then decide. If it isn't there, you were right. It was a turkey. If it is, see if the Wild Turkey helps you decide what else it may be.

  7. Perhaps this is an example of the elusive stick snake. They inhabit the Ocala area I hear.

  8. I once made Bill stop the car so I could take a picture of ..... an escaped plastic garbage bag. Could have sworn it was a giant egret.

Also once I even posted a picture of a log in our Oregon wetlands that looked exactly like an alligator. Really.

Perhaps this all doesn't make you feel a bit better, but your post made me feel happy to know I wasn't alone ;>)

  11. I can not tell what it is, a piece of wood, or a maverick? but I think the movement that you saw was deceiving the eye. It worked your subconscious! :) Have a nice day, friend!
