Yup. This is a familiar look. I went to the same barber shop in Hartford for more than thirty years. Saul was the owner, and he stopped coming in when it became hard for him to stand at 92 years old. My longtime barber, Tony, retired two years ago at about 72. Just a child!
Looks like the good old days for sure. I used to get my hair cut )until I decided to cut it myself) in a barber shop when I was in High School because I had a D.A. and they were cheaper. Haha
My father always went to an old fashioned barber shop. My kids always went to a stylist. When my father drove my kids to a haircut while he was visiting from out of town, he asked the stylist how much it was for a haircut. After hearing the price, he hesitated and did not ask for a haircut.
My son, who was about 10 or 11 years old, told the stylist, "Granddad won't want to spend that much. You see, he grew up during the depression."
My dad would only go to a place like this. He hated that "salon" atmosphere. I think they might have cut the hair on the guy in the chair a little too close.
