This is a very beautiful art museum. We spent an afternoon there a few years back when they were doing lots of construction on the parking area. I of course tripped and fell on some of the curbing that was raised up but wasn't marked yet on my way in...silly me...and smashed my face full force into the pavement, broke my glasses and they were the nicest, kindest, people. The security guards came running out, picked me up, brought me in, gave me ice, cleaned my wounds and sent an apology and a check in the mail. Guess they thought I was going to sue them or something ...that was a nice surprise in my mailbox. All they wanted from me was to sign a release form. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect that. Who knew when I went that day that I'd end up with a black eye, broken glasses and a little bit richer.
I checked ou the link and it looks like a great place with the galleries opening onto that courtyard, Lowell! A fine-looking building.

ReplyDeleteThis looks like the Met compared to the dinky one we have here. Ours could probably fit in the lobby of yours.
ReplyDeleteNice looking reflection too.
ReplyDeleteA great facility to enhance any area. Intrigued by the name because of Appleton, WI. Any background on the name?
ReplyDeleteNice building and I've just discovered a whole lot of European painters I'd never heard of!
