Bank of the Ozarks

It's an enigma.  What is the Bank of the Ozarks doing in Ocala, Florida?  The Ozarks are mountains located many miles west of Ocala mostly in the State of Arkansas.  Life sure gets confusing sometimes!

  1. That rates as unusual. And it reminds me of something out of Gone With The Wind.

  3. That's a bank?? Looks like a church...or a fancy house. Maybe those Ozark folks are moving to Florida for the sunshine and brought their bank with them.

  6. Just to add to the confusion, I guess. It's a nice looking building, at least.

  7. It is a good question. Maybe they were run out of town and thought the old folks in Florida wouldn't ask questions. MB

  8. My sister lives on the edge of the Ozarks in Missouri and it's been an unusually cold and wet winter there. Maybe they've headed south for a while.

  9. Doesn't look like your everyday bank.

  10. Don't get so confused that you let them take your money before you figure it all out.

Have you considered that maybe there's a big, rich family called "the Ozarks?" You know, like keeping up with the Ozarks??

  11. After looking at your photo I've got interest. I have to give you credit. The name isn't your vault.

  12. The last thing I would expect to be an export from the Ozarks are financial institutions. Corn cob pipes are more likely.

  13. Whatever, I love the building. It reminds me of the old courthouse in Dayton, WA.

  14. I was just wondering if you were on the road! I guess you don't bank here, otherwise you'd probably know the answer to this mystery. :)

  15. I think a few banks purchased each other out during the last recession. I hear TD Bank (Toronto-Dominion) has bought a few banks in Florida. True story. ;)

  16. Ha!
I hear the Space Mountain ride in Dizzy World is the tallest 'mountain' in your state, let alone Ocala.
    Too funny!

  17. It is nice to see a return of smaller community banks even if they appear to placed in the wrong neighborhood.

  19. It is a very nice building. Banks do the same here, beyond the big ones we have branches of small banks from faraway places like this one...
