After catching a fish, this egret was chased by nasty crows who tried to steal the fish! The egret would not give it up, but instead ruffled its feathers and shook off those crows. They finally few away and the egret gulped down the fish.
Zest has to do with spirit and enjoyment and gusto. I'd say this is one zesty egret!

Ah, zesty and beautiful and with a full tummy!!! Nothing better!! Terrific capture, Lowell!! Definitely the right place at the right moment!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen an egret looking so ruffled, Lowell! Wonderful post for the theme.
ReplyDeleteWith gusto! Way to go egret!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful!! Though the poor egret looks rather funny, he probably doesn't care so long as he still has his fish supper.
ReplyDeleteHe looks fierce!
ReplyDeleteThis is quite a nice capture, Lowell. Such a tasty-looking fish.
ReplyDeleteThis is a brilliant capture!!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the subject. He is all ruffled with zest. MB
ReplyDeleteNice choice for theme day.
ReplyDeleteWe have broad views of birds in both our front and our back yards. All the bird drama this spring has been around the bigger birds trying to get away from the little ones who chase them away from the nests and food they stalk. I must have seen at least 6-8 little guys harassing a harrier this evening. None of them have an easy time of it...
ReplyDeleteMust have been a hungry bird!
ReplyDeleteThis brave egret really deserves that fish...
ReplyDeleteWhat a capture! What a timing! Fantastic, Lowell.
ReplyDeleteHa! I don't think I have ever seen an egret with its feathers all over the place like that!
ReplyDeleteYou got a nice shot there with the ruffled feathers and the fish before it got eaten. Zesty!
ReplyDeleteYep, he is zesty alright! What a great shot of one of my favorite birds.
ReplyDeleteRuffled with zest or?
