Disney World on TV

This photo was taken on the 15th anniversary of Disney World in Orlando.  If I remember correctly, it pictures a cafe at the "Small World" attraction.  The year was 1986.

The TV effect is a Photoshop action by Panos FX.

  1. I haven't been there since I was a kid... admittedly it's not something I want to see again, particularly not having kids of my own.

    That I know of, anyway.

  4. Very cool, but I'm not sure the speakers are working. I can't hear anything, and I know those people are making noise. And the fountain, too. I can't hear that. 8-)

  5. It's better that way, no measles.

  6. I've given up watching TV this week, but for your historic photo I'll make an exception. Note the fashion shown here. Almost everyone is wearing either a blue or a white shirt. Wouldn't see that now.

  7. Well, I wasn't there in 1986 but, I was there for the grand opening in 1971. What ceremony that was. I have some very fond memories of that experience.

  11. That 'small world' song drives me crazy. Each time I'm there it stays in my head for hours... days.
"It's a small world after all..."
    See?

  12. Never been there and also my son is a bit too old for that... But who knows?

  13. Cool. That song does the same to me as it does to Birdma, except that I only know the Disneyland Paris version.

    And nice ad for Sony!

  14. Cool shot Lowell! I like all the colors. Disney World opened the same year I graduated from high school. It was only the Magic Kingdom then. So much has changed. I got stuck on that "Small World" ride once. The ride stopped, but the music did not. I don't think I've been on it since!

  15. I have been to Disney World more times than I can count. I used to spend a lot of time there when I lived in FL. :) For me, it's definitely a happy place!
