Orange tree

This is our season for citrus, so all over Ocala you will see orange and grapefruit trees laden with their juicy bounty. This particular tree belongs to one of our neighbors. I don't know what they plan to do with all the oranges, but they'd probably give them away if you asked.

  5. That reminds me of fruit trees we had in California...plums, citrus and figs. I especially miss the figs.

  7. I can remember as a child touring the citrus groves and being mesmerized in seeing where oranges came from. And the scent. My favorite souvenir that year some orange blossom perfume.

    Thanks for the memories

  10. This is a common sight in Phoenix and all around the Valley. The smell of orange blossoms fills the air at times. We don't have them here in the higher elevations.

  12. Up north neighbors are always trying to give away tomatoes and peppers and other vegetables overrunning their gardens. I guess excess citrus are the Florida equivalents.

  14. Nothing nicer than an orange straight from the tree.

  15. I love citrus fruits. That’d be nice if I had one in my garden. Orange and grapefruit trees in Ocala would be equivalent to persimmon trees in Nara. There are many trees laden with persimmon fruits in autumn. Hope everything’s okay with you. Have happy and healthy days ahead., Lowell.
