Every year for many years, the residents of this house dress a cross on their lawn with a purple drape during the Lenten season. I posted a photo of this lenten cross a few years back but we drove by the other day and were surprised to find the draped cross still there as Lent was over as was Easter so naturally I had to take another picture! Perhaps they got their signals crossed?
One wonders if they're home. That's too long after Easter.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree with William, one does wonder if they're home!!
ReplyDeleteLowell. That is not a cross of any kind. That is a purple sweater hung out to dry, after being washed.
ReplyDeleteI've known people who keep their christmas decorations up WAY past the holiday but never for Easter, which doesn't often have lawn or other kinds of decorations. It looks too fresh and neatly maintained to be neglected.
ReplyDeleteThat is a little strange that the drape is still there this long after Easter. Maybe someone needs to check on them.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they are in mourning for something, Lowell!
ReplyDeleteI thought it's been awhile too.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....this is a little odd. Great capture.
ReplyDeleteEither way, it looks very elegant!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen anything like this...
ReplyDeleteIntersting. I have never seen a draped cross out on a lawn before.
ReplyDeleteHey, some folks leave Christmas decoration up 365. Lazy or smart? You make the call.
ReplyDeleteThis is also new to me...
ReplyDeleteIt does make you wonder what's up in that house, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt's a mystery. I've only seen this kind of display in church yards.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t know such Easter custom. I hope something wrong didn’t happen to the residents of the house.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your concern about earthquake. I have experienced some minor ones and no damages. I live in relatively a safe zone, but the problem is we don’t know where we encounter a big earthquake. There are various different type of natural disasters.I saw the news of massive flash flooding in Texas and Oklahoma. I hear Florida is hit by a hurricane periodically. In case, please take preventive measures and precautions.

Interesting. I guess it's sort of like Christmas lights, they'll just leave it out until next year.
ReplyDeleteI think you'd better call CSI to check what's going on inside the house... :-))) That is sinister!
ReplyDeleteAnyways not an eyesore. Elegantly draped :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with JM. Perhaps they are merely waiting until the end of the month to replace it with Hallowe'en decorations? ! :-)
