Afternoon storm

This is a typical afternoon storm rolling into our area, formed by the collision of hot air with cooler air, usually from the Gulf of Mexico.

  8. That is a very dramatic looking sky. If it were in Illinois, I'd say it looks like tornado weather. If it were here in Arizona, there would be a dust storm coming soon.

  12. I don't mind those Florida showers. They're usually gone as quick as you can get your umbrella out. It's been raining quite a lot here though - and it's COLD!

  16. Yep! We had a doozy of a lightening storm yesterday evening -- and rain all night. Beautiful sunshine this morning .... something I still can't get used to. (In Oregon rain usually means light steady drip drip for days... and gray the next morning if it isn't still raining.)

  18. Nice shot with dramatic sky and raindrops. Recently we have more storms caused by the collision of warm and cold air in the very limited area. Be safe, and have happy summer ahead, Lowell.
