Coyote Cantina is a new sports bar in downtown Ocala, just 1/2 block off the square. It features Mexican and American food. Some folks seem to like it, others not so much. I've read they charge more for beer purchased outside in the patio area than they do for beer ordered inside.
We took this photo just a week or two after Christmas and that's why the decorations are still up.
I will always try a Mexican food place at least once, Lowell!
ReplyDeleteToo bad it is a bit iffy. We are always looking for good Mexican restaurants. They are so common on the West Coast ( of the USA, not of Florida)... And while we like to try new cuisines, sometimes we just want our comfort food. Which really shows you it's more about environment than heritage, as we couldn't possibly be any further from Hispanic.
ReplyDeleteCatchy name!
ReplyDeleteI love Mexican food, my fave is chile rellano, yum!
ReplyDeleteCharging more for a beverage outside than inside? Really??? Sounds like a great way to lose business. And, good thing you clarified about when you shot the photo, otherwise I would've really wondered about the owners still having their Christmas decorations up. : )
ReplyDeleteWhat's next? Inside zones? Farthest from the kitchen pays more, too? Not a recipe for goodwill.
ReplyDeleteHow odd about the beer prices? In Berlin, beer is often cheaper than bottled water at restaurants, and they don't bring you a glass of tap water for free!
ReplyDeleteDo you like this place? Have you tried it?
That sounds a little like Paris Lowell, coffee is more expensive outside where you can people watch :) Love Mexican food, have you tried it yet?
ReplyDeleteThe thing about the beer is quite strange!
ReplyDeleteCharging more outside than inside is here a common practice...
ReplyDeleteI was excited to hear about another Mexican Restaurant until you said those dreaded words "sports bar".
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.....well try it and enlighten us.

Well, I don't drink, and sports bars in general don't appeal to me at all.
ReplyDeleteWell, I do LOVE Mexican food, so I'd surely be ready and willing to give it a try!!
ReplyDeleteOh so you don't get served fried coyote?
ReplyDeleteDoesn't seem right to charge more when there's less "over head". lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a quaint little place, and I like the name!
