Homemade Hot Rod

This fine vehicle appeared in a driveway near us just recently. But it only stayed about a day. Then it was gone. It appears to me to be a homemade dune buggy or some such.

  2. Looks like a VW based dune buggy with a custom frame. Looks well constructed, and would be a blast to drive, especially through sand dunes. Great find.

  8. Kind of a bare-bones essential of a vehicle. Looks like a vehicle made for show more so than actual use. Still fun though.

  9. We used to stay summers at an RV park on the Oregon Coast near some pretty good sand dunes. Where we've seen buggies similar to this one. Some of the dune buggies or the trailers that haul them have a bumper sticker that says "It's a sand thing. You wouldn't understand." Exactly.
