Wildflowers on the Winding Oaks Horse Farm
Scraggly Tree With a Lot of Charm
Racing/Training Track on Winding Oaks Horse Farm
Rider and Horse on Morning Workout
The Winding Oaks Horse Farm is a massive operation (700-800 acres) surrounded by homes and businesses. It has been owned by Eugene Melnyk, a wealthy Canadian, but a couple of years ago we received word he was retiring and selling out.
At present, however, the operation still seems to be going strong as a racing stable. The racing/training track seen above is about a mile from our house and we can see horses and riders working out most every morning. The property is being kept up and looks like a thriving operation.

What lovely views to greet one in the morning...or any time!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so peaceful with the wildflowers!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful place! How nice that you are so close and can watch the horses and riders. I like that old tree too. Oh and yes I absolutely hate driving on I-75! In fact, I would go visit my grandchildren a lot more often if I didn't hate that drive so much.
ReplyDeleteAn operation like that is rarely shut down, methinks. There's always someone with a big pocketbook willing to step up.
ReplyDeleteAdorable flowers field! Great pictures, this farm is very beautiful!
ReplyDeletehugs and lots of lights to you and Lois Anne

ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! Love the meadow with the wildflowers. I can imagine a place like this is a lot of work though!
ReplyDeleteWow that is quite a huge operation. I hope when the owner retires and maybe sells it will contine as is. Don't you just love the wildflowers.
