The Ark at the Market Church
Fundamentalist Christians in central Florida never miss an opportunity to evangelize their friends and neighbors. Some of these saw the local Marion County Flea Market as a good market for their version of Christianity. So they started a church to offer flea market workers the chance to worship on Sunday morning.
This church is situated in one of the many side extensions. I have no idea what kind of attendance they get for their services.
You may notice the sign in the second shot is clearly visible in about the middle of the first photo.
I apologize for the poor quality of the photos. No excuses. I was just off my game this morning.
Weirdest spot I've ever seen for a church gathering.
ReplyDeleteExcelente trabalho.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e um bom fim de semana.
How weird is that!
ReplyDeleteI heard of churches that pop up in storage units because rent is cheaper than having an actual building to pay for. Strange indeed!
ReplyDeleteStrange and even a bit odd.

Very unique! I have never seen a church gathering in this type of location.
ReplyDeleteJesus of the Flea?
ReplyDeleteDo all religious people in USA the same, advertise their messages in public places???
ReplyDeleteI have to figure out if it happens here too...
How creative and practical.

The world is buffet of religion. Many to chose from.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those sinners with a future. Just not in religion of any kind.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look very inviting to me.
ReplyDeleteStrange place for a church, but I've seen even stranger than that. I have a cousin who decided to be a preacher one day (no college, no seminary, just started preaching) and he started a church in a tent. I think they now have a building, but I've never been there.
