Not long ago, we were thirsting for a Dairy Queen Blizzard. If you've never had a Dairy Queen Blizzard, I would high recommend you buy one asap. But you can't fret about calories.
The Dairy Queen we visited is a rather dumpy building in a rather dumpy part of town but it does have this very cheery mural. What was problematic was that the mural was behind the building where it could not be seen from the road. That made no sense to me.
But the Blizzards...ah, they are to die for!
There's one no more than a twenty minute walk from my front door, but I've never been in. I know the Blizzards have been around longer than the Flurry over at McDonald's, but it's a similar sort of concept.
ReplyDeleteI am addicted. My favourite is Royal Rocky Road Brownie Blizzard!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a blizzard in years but I do remember that I LOVED them. How can you not like a blizzard. We use to live about a ten minute drive from one in Portland, OR. Good memories for those blizzards. Did you eat yours all up? :)
ReplyDeleteMy cousin worked at the Dairy Queen when we were in our teens and I always made a point of visiting here at work for a frozen treat!
ReplyDeleteHave never seen one as they do not have a presence in India but ifyou post a picture I could tell you its equivalent here.
ReplyDeleteThere are Dairy Queens around my area in Montreal and I have never actually gone in to one in decades! I have tried their soft ice cream, it is fantastic, the never the Blizzard. :) Love this mural, Lowell, and thanks for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteNever had one. I'm going to try to forget your recommendation.
ReplyDeleteThe mural is very cheery. It looks like it covers just about any kind of junk food one can long for out of the most important food groups: sugar and fat.
I fight against the advertising posters, so when they are hidden, I'm happy
ReplyDeletein my post, I talk a party to financially support the people of Nicaragua
Excelente trabalho e boa fotografia.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom Domingo.

Every now and then, you just have to have one. Not too often though as it is not exactly health food.
ReplyDeleteI like the Dairy Queen soft ice cream cones---YUM!! Bob and I get them on occasion but they are very filling. A blizzard is ok but I am not ready to die.
ReplyDeleteRe weather---here in our part of western Washington we have mild winters---usually. I say usually because when you least expect Mother Nature throws in a whammy. We usually have an occasional frost, seldom any snow and seldom no temps below 30 and that would be in January--our coldest month. Like I said "usually!".

That mural is tempting with all of DQ's tasty treats. I haven't had a blizzard in ages. That sounds quite nice!
ReplyDeleteThe cheerful billboard looks like a menu!
ReplyDeleteSeeing that mural, feel more like eating 😊 Lowell.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
We don't have DQ here in Europe, but a McFlurry will do in a pinch! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOne of my friends always wants to go there for a Peanut Buster Parfait. I usually go for a Blizzard instead.
