  1. Such nice silhouette trees and painted sky!

Thank you for your comment and a good question on my latest post. Through the spread of Buddhism, the Chinese writing system was imported into Japan. The earliest texts found in Japan are written in Classical Chinese, but not read the same with Chinese way but in Japanese method. The wooden tablets found at the ruins of Fujiwara-kyo, which was used as official documents or letters, were written with these Classical Chinese.

Incidentally, the modern Japanese writing system is a combination of three character types; (logographic) adopted Chinese characters, syllabic hiragana (invented in 9th century), katakana for loan words and foreign names. So Japanese writing system is considered to be the most complicated in use in the world.

  6. Looks like a misty morning. You can't play golf before sunrise. Your ball would get lost, but I see you put your camera to good use. Love the silhouette of the trees.

  9. What a beautiful golden sky!
(That sky that you asked about in my post today did sprinkle a little but not nearly enough to wash the road dust off our rental car. We'd been admonished to stay only on paved roads. So we took a joyride through a car wash and everyone was happy.)
