First Presbyterian Church in Palatka, Florida, is located on a beautiful site very near the St. John's River. It is a substantial congregation, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA), the more liberal of the Presbyterian groups.
The congregation offers worship services and study opportunities along with a variety of social programs, and believes part of its mission is to help meet the needs of the larger local community.
As you can see, the church building is quite impressive. A stand-out feature is the bell tower which faces the St. John's River.
I like the design.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks as if they intend to be there for a while. You're right. It's an impressive building.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely building and it sounds as if it is active, which is nice.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely bell tower. We don't see those too much here in my part of KY.
ReplyDeleteThe church is great and it looks impresive with the palm . It reminds English style

The church and location are very attractive.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a substantial piece of architecture Lowell. I'm not really an overly religious person but my mum insisted we went to church when we were growing up, it was a Presbyterian church quite a bit smaller than this.. in the middle of Africa ☺
ReplyDeleteThat's an attractive building. Very recognizable as a church. Nice pictures of it too.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing any building constructed of red brick. There is just something warming about it.
ReplyDeleteI grew up attending a red brick Presbyterian church but the congregation dwindled over the years and it has now been converted into an "event center".
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised to see the red brick - you don't show us too many brick buildings from down there, Lowell!
ReplyDeleteA good building. The sky is spectacular!!
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Very nice building. Traditional "church". :)
