Houses Housing Businesses - Lake Sumter Landing, The Villages

In Lake Sumter Landing of The Villages, you will find a number of structures that appear to be houses where people live, but in reality contain a variety of businesses, many of which are related to the needs of The Villages.

The first two photos show houses which are used for professionals such as accountants and insurance agents.  The third photo shows a house on Main Street which contains a large health insurance company.

Houses in the other photos are used for similar purposes.

  1. That second to last one is my favourite. My father's accountant has run her business out of a converted century old house for years.

  2. They do look nice. There are quite a few houses here near downtown that are used for businesses, but all of them are historic homes that have been restored.

  5. Wonder just what sort of business is behind that 'private' gate. must admit that it is a very attractive approach to a downtown business section.

  6. Those are nice places for businesses -- much more welcoming than a typical business office. I worked for a while in an older sort of Victorian building remodeled into offices. The covered front porch in particular was a good spot.

  7. Lake Sumter Landing. I can't read the word "Sumter" without thinking of SC's Fort Sumter. This is the Fort Sumter of Ocala!

  8. I just noticed that the second to last one, the one that William likes, and the one that I like, both have windows where you can see at different angles, and a similar rounded top area. I do like these. and I removed the Rush Limbaugh quote at your suggestion, Lowell. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your visits and kind comments on my blog. I hope you have a great week. :)

  13. Just came back to comment on your comment on my post today. We used to have one of those fake ice rinks here, but nobody went. That's why they opened a real one and it is very popular!

  16. Certainly looks a lot better than some ugly strip mall with parking out front!

  17. But they don't look like Florida houses. They appear to have been lifted from Cape Cod.
