It all began with the Colen family in 1947. They developed several of these communities in Florida but the Ocala site is arguably the best. One of the things of which they are most proud is the "Lifelong Learning Education Center," which offers classes and lectures on just about any topic one can imagine - there are 700 plus such offerings every semester.
OTOW provides three golf courses, one of which is open to the public which also features a driving range, practice facility and pro shop.
There's much more and if you're interested you can get additional information HERE.

ReplyDeleteThe Horse Fever is my favourite of these.
ReplyDeleteIt does look nice. I have a friend who just bought a house there a few months ago and she loves it!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with 700+ classes and lectures. That's a big program...but then it sounds like a big community.

It sounds like quite a place. I love that horse.
ReplyDeleteObviously here are lots of activities that will keep boredom away. Seems like there are plenty of energetic folks there.
ReplyDeleteA good center with many activities.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
The Lifelong Learning Center is a great idea. There are opportunities for "seniors" classes in Eugene through the UO and various other sponsors (all for any old person, they are not located in a 55+ development). but nothing we've found in our neighborhood here in Florida. We have to self-educate (not sure that's working so well).
