The Fox Squirrel is more elongated than a regular squirrel. It has a fine bushy tail. Generally, its colors are white and black or
a brownish color and white. When it runs it looks like a fox, especially when seen from a distance. In my experience, Fox Squirrels are not quite as skittish around humans as are other varieties of squirrel and will often approach looking for a handout.

Gosh Lowell, what a beautiful photo! It posed for you and even smiled a bit (or so it seems that way haha). I haven't seen a Fox Squirrel before, it's a beautiful creature.

...a Fox Squirrel, now that's a new one for me!
ReplyDeleteDon't have any here so this guy looks so strange to me.
ReplyDeleteCute squirrel. Beautifully captured!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you had done some photoshop work on a squirrel. I've never heard of these guys. What an unusual creature!
ReplyDeleteRather cute!
ReplyDeleteThis one looks like he's sizing you up! You got a great photo of this little guy. I've not seen one before.
ReplyDeleteLowell, fine wildlife photo. You caught this fox squirrel just right. We do not have this variety of squirrel around here, so I am happy to see one. Your assumption on my blog today is correct, but the car is not new. I've had it for years.
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual looking squirrel. Never heard of the fox squirrel.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this creature. Are you sure you're not making this up?????
ReplyDeleteThis is a new one to me. And what a fine poser he is! Great portrait!
ReplyDeleteSuper shot Lowell! I've never seen a fox squirrel before so once again you have broadened my horizons 😀
ReplyDeleteNever seen Fox Squirrels, it really doesn't look a normal squirrel.
ReplyDeleteYes, he is looking at us.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot.

Fox squirrel is new to me. The unique face and interesting pose made me wonder if it was a primate, but now I know it a squirrel. Wish you and your family a glorious May, Lowell.
