Dying in the spring

When spring rolls around, our thoughts turn to new life, to all the signs of new life around us - fresh, green leaves, flowers exploding to color our world.

But this tree shows how, sometimes, spring brings evidence of death.

The tree is located in an upscale neighborhood on the east side of Ocala, not far from where we used to live. We were driving through that neighborhood the other day and I was taken aback by this wonderful tree struggling to survive.

You will note there are some buds trying to break through; it is showing it hasn't given up. But I don't think it will make it through the summer.

Special Note:  We have re-activated our website, L & L Photography.  But there is a new URL:

If you are interested, give it a look.  We'll be posting our more "artsy" photos there.

  6. I hate to see a tree struggling like that. When I lived in my old place I had one in my front yard that struggled like that for two years and I finally had to take it down. It made me very sad.

  8. So sad to see Lowell.. a bit like the trees in Fremantle I showed a few days ago. You have to wonder why it happens to some and not others ✨

  9. We have head a lot of trees killed in wind storms the last few weeks and it is always sad to see one go.

  10. Maybe the tree has done its time here.

Re your comment on my post, sad to say we are in a similar situation in India. Unfortunately the right wingers seem to have taken over the world leading to xenophobia and regression.
