  1. Love the DOF here. My eye keeps going back and forth from bird to bird, then back again.

    WHOA, make it stop!

  2. Twins! Are their names Pete and Repete! Just back from a little vaca in Door County, Wisconsin - been there?

  3. @ Safe Leif - Nope! I tried once, but they slammed the door in my face. I didn't think that was very nice, so I went to Floor County, but I can't remember which state that was in...the state of confusion, methinks.

Hope you had fun. But, I was wondering where your black eye came from, and Allison said you ran into a door.

  6. I like animal shots and it especially nice to see these parrots close-up. I don't think I'd want them as pets. I know they make quite a mess.

  17. Impressive shot. From what distance did you shoot these fellows?

  18. @ Per Stromsjo - These two were on a perch along the main promenade at Silver Springs. They were in the open, untethered, and I got about two feet from them to take this shot. They were quite unruffled by the whole business. I think they are used to funny people carrying funny black boxes which the funny people point at them.

  19. So one parrot said to the other 'that guy with the camera wants a shot, should we preen or pose'?

  20. Those two would stand out in a crowd with all that color. They make a pretty pair.

  23. Not unlike that dog I encountered the other week. Didn't display one iota of interest in what I was up to. Come to think of it, maybe it was a doggie celebrity of sorts?

  24. Ah the Swedes again. Did you have a nice conversation?

  25. These two look like they might be best buddies. Net photo, Jacob!

  30. Wow, they are beautiful. I have dreamed of having a "speaking" parrot since I "met" one in Austin (a colleague of mine there had one that kept talking all the time).

  31. @ Marie - I think a talking parrot would drive one crazy after awhile.

How did you like Austin? We have lived in both Dallas and Houston. Much prefer Florida, though.
