The River Trail at Silver River State Park

The River Trail winds about 1/2 mile through woods and swamps from the parking lot to the Silver River.

If you look closely, you can see Lois Anne and Haley in the distance.

  4. I am sure that the person and dog in your photo are finding this a delightful place to share a walk, but I hope that the dog does not pick up any ticks in the woods.

  5. So much reminds me of my last trip to Matheran. We'd done lot of trekking through the hilly jungle... :-)

  13. Looks a lot like July in Minnesoooota! Do you miss the change of seasons at all, J?
BTW, it's going to get to 10 above today! Woo hoo!

  14. @ Allison - Ocala is 300 miles north of Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. There is no real change of season in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, even though we would get some cool weather sometimes (in the 40s at night)...

In Ocala, we do get a taste of a change of seasons...all of them...the best are fall and spring where the temps are quite mild. And some winters are very nice. This one has been way too cold.

In fact, it's only getting up to 72 today!

    :-)

  15. Looks similar to my walking trail. Pretty almost any time of year, except when it's rained. Squish.

  28. looks okay to me. I love the green, moist place filled with lotsa little and a few big living things. nice pix to appreciate.

  29. @ Ciel - You're so silly. Gators "wade out" only when they're hungry...not to worry - they get hungry only once a month.

  30. Now that looks like a place I'd like to go--very nice! And those gators? Hmm, maybe a gator wrestler can accompany me.
