Alone in the wilderness

This is one green you do not want to overshoot...the ball will roll all the way down the hill into the water!

  2. OOPS! Well, if I played there I'd have an excuse as to why my ball was in the water. ;-)

  3. I know all about the water! Hope you are staying out of it. :D

  7. Umm... that's not green. However, judging from your photos, you do live in paradise - horses, golf courses, swimming pools, no shoveling of snow. What a life!

  8. This looks like a time that you would want the rough to be a little higher.

  9. If only we could carry a diving suit and chainsaw in our bag we'd be set.

  10. It sounds like you know this from experience. Is that you at the water's edge? MB

  11. It doesn't look very good... Nice catch!

  12. A far cry from this kind of golf, I played a miniature golf course when about ten and hit a ball over a (then I thought it was) good-sized lake for a hole in one! The only one in my life...

  13. My shots usually by-pass the slope and go directly into the water.

  14. I can not believe, this guy is playing golf there,it's really difficult!
I need to confess that I understand nothing about golf :(
Cezar told me once he played golf ( time ago when he worked in the USA)and it's good for business as well.Again I could not understand it!
    Anyway it's a beautiful picture!

  16. And what's awaiting the poor golfer in the water...a peevish alligator or two????

  17. @ Brattcat - I don't think there are any alligators in the ponds around here...but there could be. Sometimes, when it's very dry, they will seek water where they find it.

But, the golfer may encounter some nasty snakes...that's why it's always best to poke around with a golf club before sticking your hand in the water if you're looking for an errant golf ball!

  18. @ Bibi - A hole-in-one on any golf course is quite a feat.

I've had four, which I could brag about, but I know that in each case the hole-in-one was the result of a massive stroke of luck!

  19. Oops. Poor guy.
I wonder if he even notices the fantastic landscape he's in…

  20. @ Small City - No, that isn't me, but it could be! I've been known to bury many of my golf balls in watery graves!

  21. I don't see anyone around him. I think I'd just get out another ball and call it good.

  22. It looks threatening with those what are they, palm trees in the wind looking like banshees...

  23. Does the water have alligators in it? And... what happened to the grass? I demand that the grass in Florida be green!

  24. See, if I had read all the comments before posting, I would have known that there were no alligators, or, at least, probably not. Just giant man eating snakes. Ohh much better...

  25. @ Three Rivers - Well, the grass in South Florida is definitely green! We live 300 miles north, however, and we had a couple of weeks of really cold weather, including several nights which below freezing; that effectively did in most of the grass around here...

However, it's been raining for a couple of days...already the grass is greening up again. Tomorrow it's supposed to be warmer and sunny. I think it won't be long before we green up nicely again.

  26. Pretty! I've never played golf in my life, but golf courses can be pretty--I hear they are bad for the environment,t hough.

  27. Those palm trees look menacing somehow. Another reason not to be alone out there.

  28. I have had fun reading the comments!

  29. The trees do look a little sad!
