This beautiful home is located in the east side of Ocala. It is quite large and has been for sale for several months. One problem might be that it is located right next to huge power lines (just out of the photo to the right).
I don't see what power lines have to do with anything - just draw the curtains. Beautiful house. Problem is, a lot of these houses are too big for even 4 people - keeping it air-conditioned, the upkeep, etc. Have to be wealthy.
My first house was located right next to the railroad tracks. Power lines might be dangerous, but so is a freight train barreling through your backyard. For this beauty I'd be willing to negotiate. :)
It is a beautiful house and looks like there might be some property going along with it. Power lines are ok. We lived by them for over 30 years---thery didn't hum at all--and we all are healthy--only our sense of humor is a bit skewed.
If you mean those kind way up in the air on those large frames? I wouldn't like that either. My sister-in-law lived under one of those kinds of power lines and ended up with cancer of the breast, lungs and etc., and people had told her it was not the place to live. But that it was dangerous though the power company said it would be safe.
Wow, what a lovely home.... I own a parcel of land in Ocala and have been dealing w/the "Progress Energy" planning div.since 2008.They are putting in transmission lines in 'preferred corridors" and it looks like I am outta luck at ever selling my land as they say I am w/i the 250ft area of their corridor. Bummer. I inheriated this land from my father. I had hoped to someday retire there...Not going to happen now...I feel for the Sellers. Did they build/buy the house by the power lines or did the lines go up after the home was built? In a heart beat I would love to live there but I too am a bit nervous about living near major power lines.
Now that can be a problem, but the house is fantastic! What a shame...

They used to say that power lines could cause cancer, but I think now they say there's not really any proof. Of course the lines still look crummy.

ReplyDeleteI don't like power lines. We had one near my residence but a few years ago a lady became very ill, and the power line got dismantled.
ReplyDeleteI can understand how its not been snapped up .. I bet the taxes on it are enormous ... add to that landscaping and just day to day upkeep...
